Logline - A grieving queer man returns to Vietnam to retrieve his mother’s ashes, only to be trapped by his estranged family of shamans who believe he carries a deadly curse.
Synopsis - Ten years after witnessing his mother die under terrifying circumstances in Vietnam, Sean returns to her ancestral village to reclaim her ashes and uncover the truth she tried to bury. When his sexuality is exposed and his grandfather suddenly dies, Sean is branded a jinx and trapped inside a temple ruled by his estranged family of shamans. As violent misfortunes plague their village, Sean is subjected to brutal rituals to correct him. To survive, he must uncover the terrifying roots of his heritage and break a vicious cycle before superstition becomes a deadly reality.
